Heritage of the Region
Home on the Range
This 7,500-square-foot Jackson, Wyoming, home sits next to a trout-filled creek and faces the Teton mountains. The vision was to reimagine the classic log cabin with a color palette of the sky, mountains, and landscape into the warm-hued interiors and bring authenticity to the house in a modern way by honoring the heritage of the region.

Midcentury Meets Rustic (Mountain Living Home of the Year 2016)
Mountaintop Modern
The interplay of light and vistas informs every design decision we make in the mountains. On this bird’s eye site, the architecture – a modern homestead framed by tall windows and rustic elements – presented a stunning backdrop for pairing midcentury furniture with exquisite accents. | Architect: JLF & Associates, Contractor: Big-D Signature, Landscape Architect: Verdone Landscape Architects

Light and Bright Condo
Effortless Harmony
This once dark condo has been transformed into a soothing retreat. By removing the original dark wood details and painting the walls white automatically gives the space a sense of peace and harmony. Subtle textured wallcoverings and the use of tactile natural materials add warmth and a sense of luxury.

A Serene and Calming Atmosphere
Cool, Calm, and Collected
Sometimes it feels as though there's a gravitational force at play in the world of design that draws architect, interior designer, and client inexorably toward one another. That was the case with this remarkable home.

A Charming Guest House
Intimacy in Nature
The essence of this home is captured by one word: charm. And not a precious, self-conscious, or fussy charm, but a natural, effortless charm. We’ve often thought of this cottage as the “big little house”: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and one small, perfectly functioning kitchen/dining/living area—all within the 1,000 square foot footprint allowable for a guest residence on the property.

Grandeur, No Delusions

In Harmony with Nature
An Architectural Masterpiece
An important architectural statement, made by the venerable Richard Keating, must be filled with moments of equal yet subtle majesty. In a house defined by angularity, we brought the symphony of lines inside by creating an experience of form and texture attune to the vista visible from every angle.

A Reflective Palette
Snake River Sanctuary
We live in a place fit for an oil painting, a natural aesthetic we respectfully reference in our designs. The landscape became the defining element of a luminous home where windows claimed as much wall-space as stone siding; a serene palette paired perfectly with natural textures. | Architect: JLF & Associates, Contractor: Big-D Signature, Landscape Architect: Hershberger Design

Playing with Contemporary
Nodding to Nature
Nature’s elements inform the exterior backdrop, a family’s own elements: children, friends, love of entertaining, informed WRJ’s interior backdrop of alluring warmth. Stone arches add European flavor; reclaimed rustic timber speaks to the American west. The favorite place to retreat in this mountain retreat is a thirty-foot built out window, a nestled spot where inspiration meets captivation.

A Singular Color Story
Forested Retreat
We embrace collaboration: Working with the incomparable Agnes Bourne, we created a residence at once rustic and rare, in concert with its surroundings. The one-of-a-kind palette featured reclaimed timbers, Montana moss stone, custom furniture in leather, mohair and linen plus pops of crimson.
